Skyler has been gone two nights now. The new person talks to Rocky about it. I heard her tell Rocky that she hoped Skyler would be so overstimulated by all his fellow felines at the Rescue that he would not feel rejected or abandoned. She had seen the listless and sad look on the faces of cats put up for adoption in pet stores, bored to death and despairing of ever being adopted by someone who would love them and keep them safe. She said that her last look at Skyler as she attempted to hug him one last time was one of anger on his sweet little face. Rocky has stayed even closer to the new person, since Skyler has gone, rubbing against her and plopping down beside her on the bed so that she can rest her hand on his back.
